This is a very different type of film to what I would usually watch, I enjoy a good Horror movie with a decent narrative and character development, suspense and conclusion, this is somewhat different. So welcome then to AVANT-MACABRE, an experimental film created and Directed by John H Shelton
This film is a compilation of three short Horror Poems by John Shelton, Gary Baxter and Andrea Dean Van Scoyoc. These atmospheric and creepy poems are read by Emma Dark, Dean Sills and Andrea Dean Van Scoyoc.
Visually the film is in two parts, We are treated to an eerie vision by John Shelton and Steven Chamberlain which I will not spoil by giving too much away (but a quick look at the picture above gives you an idea), and a second more psychedelic horror montage which at times reminded me of the classic horror film Blood on Satan’s claw.
Those of you that believe poetry is just for the soppy at heart had better think again.
